Spriguns of Tolgus, later known as Spriguns, were a British folk rock group formed in 1972 by Mike and Mandy Morton. The duo began performing at a folk night at the Anchor pub in Cambridge, England, and released their first recording, Rowdy, Dowdy Day, in 1974. This caught the attention of Steeleye Span's Tim Hart, who produced their album, Jack with a Feather (1975). The following year, Spriguns signed with Decca Records and released Revel Weird & Wild. In 1977, they released their third album, Time Will Pass. After leaving Decca in 1977, the Mortons established Banshee Records and released Magic Lady (1978). The band disbanded that same year. Mandy Morton continued her solo career in Scandinavia, while Mike Morton returned to Cambridge. Spriguns' albums have gained a cult following and were re-released as CDs in the 1990s.
