The Ethical Debating Society is a British DIY punk and post-riot grrrl band formed in London in 2009. Originally a solo project for vocalist and guitarist Tegan Christmas, the group evolved to include guitarist Lauren Darling and drummer Chris Morris. Following several lineup shifts, the band settled in 2013 with Christmas, guitarist Kris Martin, and drummer Eli Tupa. The group released its debut album, New Sense, in 2015 through Odd Box Records. Produced by Mark Jasper at Sound Savers studio, the album received support from the station BBC Radio 6. The band has performed alongside acts such as Jack Off Jill and Shonen Knife. In 2017, the magazine Clash included the group in its list of favorite new bands. After Tupa departed in 2019, drummer Lu joined the lineup. The band's discography includes the Live EP (2011) and the EP Mutual Indecision, which was issued in 2023 on Radical Possibilities.
