Fahir Atakoğlu is a Turkish American pianist and composer born in Turkey in 1963. Atakoğlu studied under Cemal Reşit Rey between 1977 and 1979 and attended the Istanbul State Conservatory. They performed as a jingle composer for advertising agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi and Ogilvy & Mather. Atakoğlu composed music for musicians including Sezen Aksu and Sertab Erener. Their recording “Telos Dihos Telos” (2003) for Notis Sfakianakis reached 4x platinum status in Greece. Their discography includes ten albums, such as If (2005) and Istanbul in Blue (2008). Atakoğlu composed the soundtracks for the dramas Omar and Magnificent Century. Their album For Love (2020) was submitted for consideration in seven categories at the 63rd Grammy Awards.
