Son de Sol, a Spanish musical group from Écija, Sevilla, was formed in 1999 by sisters Sole, Esperanza, and Lola León. Initially known as Hermanas Soria, the trio began their music career under the guidance of their mother, Teresa León, an important cantaora. Their first album, De Fiesta por Sevillanas, was released in 1999 and received the Premio Revelación al Mejor disco de Sevillanas. In 2005, Son de Sol gained national attention by winning the preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest with "Brujería," which was produced by Manuel Ruiz and José Luis de Carlos. The group represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev, Ukraine, on May 21, 2005. Throughout their career, they released four studio albums and an EP, performed numerous concerts across Spain, and appeared in television shows as a duo. Their cultural impact is recognized with a street named Son de Sol in Écija.
