Kroke, a Polish world music band from Cracovie, was formed in 1992 by graduates of the Academy of Music. Initially influenced by klezmer and Balkan music, their sound evolved to include ethnic influences from the Orient and jazz elements. Their debut production, Klezmer Accoustic Music, was released in 1993. Kroke gained early recognition performing at events like the Survivors Reunion in Jerusalem and the Polish premiere of Schindler's List. In 1997, they performed at the WOMAD festival, invited by Peter Gabriel, leading to collaborations with him at Real World Studios. Their second album, Eden, was released that year. Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, Kroke toured extensively across Europe. In 2003, they collaborated with Nigel Kennedy on East Meets East and released Ten Pieces to Save The World. Notable albums include Seventh Trip (2007) and Out Of Sight (2009).
