Oneiroid Psychosis, an American dark wave musical duo consisting of brothers Lars and Leif Hansen, was formed in 1991. Initially known as Psychosis, they changed their name shortly after due to a naming conflict. In 1993, they were discovered by Decibel Records through a friend and signed to the label. Their debut album Stillbirth was released in 1995. The following year saw the release of two more albums: Assuage and Fantasies About Illness. After Decibel Records relocated, Oneiroid Psychosis moved to Nilaihah Records for their third album, Garden of Remembrance (1999). In 2004, they released Forever Is Forgotten. Oneiroid Psychosis became a solo project for Lars in 2008, leading to the release of Sentient.
