The Brothers Creeggan was a Canadian alternative rock and jazz band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, consisting of Jim Creeggan, Andy Creeggan, and Ian McLauchlan. The brothers started a musical journey by recording cover songs of James Brown and George Thorogood on a rented 4-track recorder. They released a self-titled debut album, The Brothers Creeggan (1993), featuring the song "Places" with backing vocals by Alanis Morissette. Their second album, The Brothers Creeggan II (1997), followed. In 2000, they added drummer Ian McLauchlan and released a third album, Trunks (2000). Their fourth album, Sleepyhead (2002), was released on Nettwerk. They went on hiatus in 2003. Ian McLauchlan died of complications following heart surgery on July 13, 2009.
