Pianist and composer @ gianmarcolaserra.com
This is Gian Marco La Serra, pianist and composer from Rome, Italy.
I started to study solfeggio at 6 years old, but at 9 I met the piano and listened to a classmate of mine, playing "Fur Elise" by Ludwig Van Beethoven, and fell in love with it; in 2006 I graduated at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia, under the learning of maestro Giovanna Crescentini.
My love for science and earth, led me to undertake geological studies at University and in these years I expanded my musical knowledges and abilities performing as soul, pop, rock and metal keyboardist with several bands and ensembles. I came back to piano in 2012, focusing on the composition, and in 2014 I released my first album "Piano Solo".
The main thing I love to do with music is telling stories and conveying emotions. I believe in the beauty of nature, the background of an often difficult and stressing living, in which we have little time to stop and reflect on ourselves and to enjoy things that really matter. I always hope that my music could take the listener and bring him away, in another place, far from everyday life, closer to himself.
I also believe in the power of the web, that allowed me to come into contact with great artists, to collaborate with some of them and to have a direct relation with my listeners.
In these troubled times of pandemic, music goes on and in November 2020 a new Christmas EP was released, "Dreams of Hope", as a wish we can come back to hug each other.
