Following the inclusion of “Las Mil y Una Noches” in the opening scene and main title credits of X-Men ‘Logan’ last year, the buzz-heavy Latin hip-hop artist Santi Mostaffa has returned with the release of the hard-hitting single “Andar”, a prelude to the full length album ‘Hambre’ to be released on Regalia Records this fall. Riding a funk-fueled bassline propelled by in-your-face horns, “Andar” is an anthemic ode to happiness, spontaneity and understanding. “From time to time, it’s good to leave one’s problems aside and look for solutions and make pacts with oneself,” says Mostaffa. “Because starting now, everything will change. I tell myself that, I promise you that. Today I’m going for a ride / Today I’m going to ANDAR.”
The 2017 inclusion of “Las Mil y Una Noches” in X-Men ‘Logan’ quickly won Santi Mostaffa a global fanbase; the song translates as “The Thousand and One Nights” and is a nod to Mostaffa’s mixed Egyptian/Uruguayan heritage. The uptempo, old-school flavored track was taken from Santi Mostaffa’s 2015 album ‘Intratable’, released by Regalia Records. In the time since the album’s release, Santi Mostaffa has made significant inroads Stateside, including a heavily-buzzed about U.S. debut at the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC). In addition to Logan, Santi Mostaffa’s music has also been featured in numerous high profile tv shows including AMC’s ‘Fear The Walking Dead’, FOX Networks’ ‘Lucifer,’ USA Network’s ‘Graceland’ and NBC-Universo’s ‘El Vato.’
