Christina Parie Papoulias, known professionally as Christina Castle and previously as KYA and Penny Lane, was born on February 10, 1996, in Castle Hill, New South Wales, Australia. She gained prominence as a finalist on the third season of The X Factor Australia in 2011, where she impressed judges with her rendition of "I Do Not Hook Up" by Kelly Clarkson and progressed to the live finals. After being eliminated, she signed with Warner Music Australia and released her debut single "16 & Unstoppable" in July 2012. In May 2014, Parie changed her stage name to KYA and released the single "What I Live For". She was later dropped from Warner Music but continued performing under various names, including Penny Lane and Christina Castle.
