You’ve probably already heard the voice of Dyo. As the best kept secret in the songwriting world, her talent has effortlessly created some of the top hits of the last decade. It’s likely that you’ve screamed her lyrics at a show, danced to her vocals in a club and listened to her on the radio during the daily commute. Dyo has been the chameleon of the music world, and now she shines more colourful than ever with her debut single, ‘Arena’.
Previously known as Ms D, she first leant her vocal to Chip for his chart-topping single, ‘Oopsy Daisy’ before earning kudos in both co-writing and feature vocals on all three of Wiley’s hit singles of his 2013 album, The Ascent, including the number one song of the summer, ‘Heatwave’. Racking up the credits that year, the East London dynamite songstress also had a hand in Iggy Azalea’s track, ‘Bounce’.
In 2016, Ms D was reborn as Dyo and was welcomed to international critical acclaim. It was after a trip to Sweden that she met producer, NEIKED and together they became responsible for 2016’s naughtiest pop track, ‘Sexual’. Earning her an Ivor Novello nomination for Best Contemporary song, the track went platinum. Maroon 5’s interpolation of the track picked her up a BMI award, whilst writing for Fifth Harmony on their third record, as well as penning tracks for M.O & Luis Fonsi ft. Stefflon Don amongst others. In 2018, she found popularity in her home country of Nigeria when collaborating with Adekunle Gold on his About 30 album.
