WINZO, Is An Independent, Pop Conceptual Artist, Songwriter & Troubadour. Born in Tacoma, WA, WINZO grew up listening to a buffet of different artists and genres of music, thus developed an eclectic taste. Artistically, WINZO is emblematic of a re-imagined kind of artistry. After years of struggling to identify with a singular genre and its blueprint, she chose to carve out a new lane that represented her. She coins her quirky lane as “Trouba-Pop,” (also known as “Storybook Pop”), which is a subgenera of pop music. “Trouba” is short for troubadour and the genre expands upon a contemporary pop song’s way of vocally delivering lyrics, specifically in both verses based on pop conventions.
Musically, the sound can embody a melting pot of elements across multiple genres such as: pop, funk, rap/alternative hip hop, improvisational jazz, house, disco, R&B, ambient/atmospheric and ethnic influences, among other aural embellishments. WINZO’s breakout single “Paradise In Between” (Radio Edit) typifies her Trouba-Pop genre to date.
