First time Marlene realized that music is something magical was when she, as a little girl, put her hands on her grandma’s piano. Before she even knew what a chord was, she began to play melodies from her head. Since then, the desire to express herself through music has been her biggest motivation and has served as a haven without precautions.
Marlene is a striking artist, songwriter and producer who shows a wide musical spectrum of dazzling pop melodies soaked in a warm, dreamy sound. She finds her inspiration from the great ballads of the 80s, the sharp storytelling in country music and today’s R’n’b.
When she uploaded the single “Bon voyage” on Soundcloud in 2013, it was initially without any pretensions. The next day she woke up to a full inbox and the response was as direct as revolving with immediate support from national radio. Her debut EP “Indian Summer” was released in 2014 and the year after Giorgio Moroder invited Marlene to guest on his album “Dèjá vu” with her song “I Do This For You”. The album topped the Billboard list of dance music.
In 2017, Marlene started her label SWEET MUSIC and released the hit single “All I Want”, which became one of that year’s most played songs in Sweden. Marlene’s latest EP “Sweet” was another reflection of her talent and resulted in a nomination as “Pop of the Year” by national radio. Billboard hailed her as “Sweden’s next pop hero”, who also announced “Next To Me” as one of the “Best overlooked pop songs of the 2010’s”.
