Laas jaar het hy ’n paar wenkbroue laat lig met sy uitdagende debuut enkelsnit “As jy dink jy weet” vroeër die jaar met ’n pratige lied uit die hart “Lewe Red” geskryf deur Riana Nel en dan nou so twee maande oud ’n lied wat verseker MONUMENTAAL is vir ons almal. RUHAN DU TOIT is an award-winning South African singer-songwriter from Pretoria.
This popular musician, known for his charming, energetic stage presence and impressive four-
octave voice, has left a significant mark on the local and international music industry over the
past three decades. He is as much a part of Afrikaans culture as biltong and koeksisters.
He grew up in Port-Elizabeth, released his first solo album at the age of eleven, and is particularly
renowned for his exceptional rendition of the hit Sound of Silence, which has garnered over 11 million
views on YouTube.
Over the years, he has achieved numerous career highlights, including 4 singles, 27 albums - 6 of which
achieved gold status, 4 platinum and 1 Diamond, an Aitsa Award in 2019, multiple radio hits, and
performances on various major and popular music stages such as Innibos, Afrikaans is Groot, and Lexus
Pop Classics.
With an extensive repertoire spanning seven languages, he has also made an international name for
himself, having had the opportunity to share the stage with country singer Kip Moore.
As a versatile musician who can not only sing but can play multiple instruments, he is equally at ease
during a sold-out stadium performance as he is around an intimate bushveld fire with selected guests.
He continues to work full-time with Coleske Group, a division of Warner Music Africa, on his music
career and plans to release several new Afrikaans and English singles in the coming months, adding to
his impressive arsenal of original music available on all streaming networks.
