Winner of several international awards, Dominique Côté is acclaimed by both audiences and critics for his warm voice and moving interpretations. His debut album as a soloist, Love and Fantasies: Melodies by Lionel Daunais, produced by ATMA Classique, received enthusiastic praise and was nominated in the Recording of the Year category at the Opus Awards gala in 2022. His discography includes several world premieres: La SADMP by Louis Beydts with the Avignon-Provence Orchestra; Nicandro e Fileno by Paolo Lorenzani with Les Boréades; L'Affaire Tailleferre by Germaine Tailleferre with the Limoges Opera; Léonore by Pierre Gavaux with Opera Lafayette; as well as two recordings of the title role in the opera Nelligan by André Gagnon, with the OSM and for ATMA Classique. Among his notable performances are the title role in Nelligan for numerous companies, the role of the Countess in Les Feluettes at the Edmonton Opera, Dr. Falke and Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss in Montreal, Quebec, Tours, and Geneva, Gerard in the premiere of Messe Solennelle pour une Pleine Lune d'Été by Christian Thomas at the Quebec Opera Festival; he has been heard in numerous performances of Handel's Messiah, as well as Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. Mr. Côté has sung under the direction of conductors such as Kent Nagano, Hervé Niquet, Christophe Rousset, Theodor Guschlbauer, Jacques Lacombe, Nicolas Ellis, Matthias Maute, Alexander Weimann, Jean-Marie Zeitouni, and Thomas Le Duc-Moreau, in repertoires ranging from baroque to contemporary, with a particular penchant for French and Quebecois music of all eras.
