In 2007, Serge Teyssot-Gay broke away from Noir Désir, for well-known extra-musical reasons, and formed Zone Libre with guitarist Marc Sens. The duo then teamed up with casey and Hamé, two rappers from La Rumeur, to perform live and release the album L'Angle Mort in February 2009. Contes du Chaos in 2011 saw the departure of Hamé, who was replaced by B.James.
