2013, 5 guys get together to found Jackhammer. A jackhammer running on Southern Metal with the addition of Stoner and Sludge. On the mechanical side, Tom on drums and Benji on bass form the structure, Will and Arthur on guitars turn the pistons and Lionel on vocals to grease the whole thing.
After having run the engine all over the West during 2013, notably at the Motocultor show and the Nantes Metal Fest, 2014 announces the arrival of a first eponymous EP to boost the infernal machine. A clip is shot on the track "No place for reason" which is also on the June Rock Hard compilation. On stage Jackhammer crosses the path of the bands Goatess (Sweden) and Midnight Ghost Train (USA), as well as Loudblast (Fr) during the Samaïn Fest (35).
During the autumn of 2014 and winter of 2015, Jackhammer will twice take to the stage as a demolition machine on the Breton lumberjacks' "The Timber Tour" with Appalooza (Brest), Stonebirds (Kreizh Bzh) and Big Sure (Nantes), and, in passing, he will be making the walls of the "Scène Michelet" vibrate for the first edition of the "West Stoner Sessions". The titles "Human" and "No place for reason" can be found on the soundtrack of the documentary "Hell of Angels" broadcast on France 3.
The band then plans to slow down in order to concentrate on the production of the new (oil?) cake after opening for Wo Fat (USA) and to record a full live at the last concert in 2015 at the Mondo Bizarro. Several concerts in 2016 and 2017 (including the Nantes Métal Fest, the 10 years of the Michelet stage, and the Festival des Arts Bourrins) intersperse the composition sessions for the new album. In 2018, the band has raised the funds and goes back into the studio to record L.U.S.T which will be released in November 2018.
