Jun Suzuki is a French-Japanese multimedia artist, developer, and former opera singer based in Berlin and Marseille. His practice spans between live performance and installation art, creating experiences that question human responsibility in environmental downfall and engage with diasporic narratives through collaborations with Asian artists.
Suzuki explores the sonorities of the Japanese language and his fragmented cultural identity through tape recorders, interactive devices, vocals, and AI-generated material. His recent projects include A Distance So Near, a textural and vocals EP on XVIIIPENINSULE Records, and Fluids, a performance collaboration with choreographer Alvin Collantes on gender and cultural fluidity. Fluids has toured in Germany (Tanz im August, Flughafen Tempelhof, SAVVY Contemporary, Bucht der Träumer), Sweden (Hybrida Fest), Portugal (House of Beautiful Business), and The Philippines (Fifth Wall Fest).
In parallel, Suzuki’s researches AI’s creative applications in arts, along with its ethical limitations. In 2025, he is in residence at MONOM as part of CTM Festival, presenting a performance that showcases various ways of hacking AI systems to generate audio, text, and spatial instructions. Additionally, he is co-authoring a research paper with Dr. Ninon Devis (IRCAM, Native Instruments) for the CNC (Centre National du Cinéma), investigating the intersection of AI, authorship, and artistic singularity.
His installation work has been showcased in residencies and exhibitions across Georgia (AqTusheti), Budapest (Patyolat Gallery, BRFK), Iceland (Gamli Skoli), and Berlin (MONOM, Alte Münze, Manifest:IO, Exgirlfriend Gallery, Merantix AI Campus, LiTE-HAUS Galerie, 90mil).
