Martini Police is a psych-indie rock project born in Brianza, Italy from Riccardo Colombo (voice, guitar, keys) and Matteo Sciacca in 2018. As drummer Giovanni Colombo joined the band, they recorded a few live sessions with a 4-track Tascam cassette recorder and released the single “Tennessee” in September 2019. The recordings yielded four songs with a lo-fi sound and a garage attitude that came out in the EP “The Basement Tapes” in May 2020, mixed and mastered by David Paysden (Vanarin, Dave Tendo, Instant Ent.).
The arrival of guitarist Lorenzo Villa and bassist Matteo Martini, along with the two Colombo brothers only, guided the project towards psychedelic and funk -rock directions, inspired by ‘70s and contemporary international music. The new formation released a reworked version of the single “Tennessee” as a live session produced by Instant Entertainment while writing new music.
In summer 2021, the band played some shows in Lombardy, introducing an almost completely new set list. The tracklist ranges from reworked songs from their first EP to unreleased songs and improvised jams. While delivering powerful sounds and mystical vibes in their gigs, they also have recorded new music scheduled for release in 2022.
