A singer-songwriter from Correggio (RE), born in Bologna on March 25, 1984, she began her musical studies, graduating in flute from the Carpi Conservatory (MO) in 2004 and in Music Education from the Modena Conservatory in 2008. At the same time, she pursued a career as a singer, winning numerous singing competitions, receiving awards from important names in Italian music (Mogol, Andrea Mingardi, Mario Lavezzi, Mara Maionchi, Luca Pitteri), and performing solo, guitar and voice, in prestigious theater and concert series. She perfected her singing skills with Michele Fischietti (vocal coach for X-Factor) and graduated as a performer (2003) and composer (2012) from Mogol's CET, where she studied with Giuseppe Barbera, Giuseppe Anastasi, Cheope, and Mogol himself.
Debora began working on her own musical project in 2009 at Luciano Ligabue's studios in Correggio, where she released two singles: her first single, "Venticinque", was a finalist at Sanremolab 2009, and the song was released in 2010 on the compilation of the same name. With her second single, "Adesso tocca a me", Debora participated in the 2010 Radio Bruno Estate tour and Festivalshow, having been chosen from over 400 hopefuls by the jury led by Mara Maionchi, performing before an audience of thousands alongside some of the biggest names in Italian music. Also in 2010, she opened for Modà in Darfo Boario Terme (BS). Over the years, Debora has combined her work as a singer-songwriter with that of writing for other artists, and has thus begun collaborating with established songwriters such as Saverio Grandi, Emiliano Cecere, Marco Ciappelli, Luca Chiaravalli, Niccolò Agliardi, and Andrea Bonomo.
In 2012, she appeared as a songwriter on Loredana Errore's album "Una Pioggia di Comete", with the song "Stringimi forte", written with Marco Ciappelli. In 2013, she co-wrote the song "Danza Immobile" with Marco Ciappelli and Fabio Barnaba. In 2014, she co-wrote eight songs for Verdiana's new album, "Nel centro del caos", released by Carosello Records.
Also in 2014, she co-wrote the song "L'amore vincerà", written with Fabio Barnaba, which appeared on Sister Cristina's first album, released worldwide by Universal Music.
In 2015, she co-wrote the song "Che ora è", written with Marco Ciappelli and Fabio Barnaba, performed by Anna Tatangelo and included on her album "Libera", released by Sony Music. Since 2014, following her conversion to Catholicism, Debora has focused exclusively on composing and performing new songs in the Christian music field. Since 2014, Debora has been invited by various Catholic organizations (parishes, associations, festivals, conferences, schools, prisons, etc.) to bring her testimony and her music throughout Italy, sparking an intense evangelization and apostolate called the "Come un Prodigio Tour", which she now conducts with her husband, Jury Castellana. The song that sparked this transformation is "Come un Prodigio", written by Debora, adapting Psalm 139; The song went viral online and has now garnered nearly four million views on YouTube, attracting the interest of national magazines such as "Medjugorje, la presenza di Maria"; "Credere"; "Miracoli"; and "Confidenze", as well as local newspapers and websites (such as "Aleteia"), which immediately offered her interviews. In 2015, her song "Cerco il Tuo Volto", written with Friar Graziano Malgeri, was chosen as the Official Hymn of the Franciscan March that year. Also in 2015, she was asked to record the Italian version of the song "Gesù Confido in Te" for the WYD in Krakow, in the Year of Mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis.
On February 22, 2018, her first book, "Come un Prodigio – Storia di una conversione", was published by Tau Editrice and is part of the "Cronache di Risurrezione" series edited by theologian and writer Robert Cheaib. On November 22, 2019, again with Tau Editrice, her second book, "The Seasons of the Soul", was released. It is a journey that, through reflections, resolutions, and prayers, aims to offer concrete insights and tools for self-knowledge and knowledge of God. Debora's music is currently featured on three albums: "Come un Prodigio" (2014), "Inno all'Amore" (2016), "Come in Cielo così in Terra" (2020), as well as several singles released on digital platforms.
Since 2021, she has been part of the record label La Gloria, through which she publishes on January 25, 2021 "Mother Of God" and subsequently the single "Che tutti sia uno", released in April 2022 and commissioned by the dioceses of Bologna as a mission anthem of evangelization that same year.
She participated in the Hillsong Project in Italian with the song "Re dei Re": a collection of 13 of the biggest worldwide hits by Hillsong United, an Australian Christian rock band with a nearly 25-year career, performed by 10 leading artists from the Christian music scene and beyond.
From an artistic perspective, Debora is currently involved in the "Come un Prodigio Tour" (concerts/testimonies about her conversion story), the "Come in Cielo così in terra Tour" (concerts/announcements of the Gift of the Divine Will), and writing new songs, the latest singles of which are titled: "Come Un Prodigio (Worship version)", "Amore in Loop", and "Solo l'Amore".
In 2025, she won the following awards at the Catholic Music Awards: Best Female Singer and Best Catechetical Song in English with "Mother of God".
