Filip Míšek and Ema Brabcová f irst met in the group Roe-Deer, which was founded in the summer of 1999. They recorded
Everforever (2001) and Aquaparty (2003) albums. During Roe-Deer's existence, they began to create their own project -
Khoiba. The project premiered with the prized EP Dilemma (2002), where Filip's attention to detail and sound experimentation
at the boundaries of trip hop excelled. However, Khoiba described their work as "atmospheric pop full of melancholy and
positive emotions". The That Reason EP (2003) was a remix/alternative image of tracks from the previous EP and brought a
title track which was a bridge to the great debut Nice Traps (2004). Before the second album Mellow Drama (2007), the more
experimental EP It's All Recorded was released. Both albums were released by the German label Mole Listening Pearls, which
released the vinyl single Ohio as the last of Khoiba's recordings, af ter Ema Brabcová lef t the band unexpectedly on May 5,
2008. Subsequently, everybody went their own way, Filip to his solo project Dikolson (The Bear Is Sleeping Now, 2011), Ema
to the band Luno (2009-2015). In 2015 Ema and Filip began writing a new Khoiba chapter. In addition, Ema became par t of
the Jan P. Muchow & The Antagonists project. Filip also produces music for movies (most recently for the Polish f ilm Fugue
by Agnieszka Smoczyñska, 2018) and dance per formances (Guide, Swish).
