Lay is a 14-year-old singer who started playing the guitar at the age of 7, inspired by her older sister who plays the guitar as well.
She is the second of three sisters, and from the age of 10, the three of them began to have more opportunities to perform together, mainly in the Kansai area, their hometown.
In September 2022, she released her first solo single, "Wanna be Breakin’" under the name "Lay." The response to her music broadcast on radio and USEN throughout Japan has been great. She has also made guest appearances on several programs. In addition, the pop rock tune "TICK! TICK! TICK!" released in November, ranked 4th in the weekly USEN HIT SNS Ranking (as of 11/16) and 7th in the weekly USEN Request Ranking (as of 11/18), among other imposing artists.
Since she likes Western music, the English version will be released at the same time. She commented, " I like English lyrics because I can express my feelings through English words that can be interpreted in many different ways." All English lyrics for songs are written by herself.
On February 22, 2023, the long-awaited 3rd edition of "Sundaylia" will be released.
The funky tone of the song expresses the idea of taking off the mask at least on Sundays that we wear daily.
