Originally from opposite ends of Japan, Yui & Aio met whilst both studying in Paris. The pair bonded at a local underground hip hop night over vintage 90s rap, vaporwave, electronica, and the arty, leftfield anime of their homeland.
Vowing to keep their friendship going after their respective stints in Paris - Yui moved to London whilst Aio returned to Tokyo – the duo kept in touch by sending beats and lo-fi sketches back and forth. What emerged was the blissful, saccharine-soaked breaks that make up Yui & Aio's distinctive sound.
