David Fisher, also known as Dudu Fisher, born on November 18, 1951, in Petah Tikva, Israel, is an Israeli cantor and performer. After serving in the army, including during the Yom Kippur War, Fisher began his cantorial studies at age 22 at the Tel Aviv Academy of Music. He started his career as a cantor at the Great Synagogue in Tel Aviv before moving to South Africa for four years. In 1987, Fisher gained international recognition for his role as Jean Valjean in the Hebrew production of Les Misérables, which led to performances on Broadway and London's West End. His notable albums include Hatikva (2006). Fisher has also collaborated with various orchestras, including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Zubin Mehta. In 2009, he sang for Pope Benedict XVI during the pope's visit to Israel.
