Serial Butcher, a Belgian death metal group from Ghent, was formed in 1995 by guitarist Hendrik and drummer Nico. The band's early years saw them releasing demos such as Demo Tape in 1997 and Exhumed Rotting in 1998. They gained traction performing with notable acts like Loudblast and Suffocation. In 2004, Serial Butcher released their EP Genocide Landscapes, which marked a significant milestone in their career. The band signed with Deepsend Records for this release, under the production of Kris Belaen. Following several lineup changes, they recorded their album A Crash Course in Cranium Crushing at Berno Studio in 2008, produced by Henrik Larsson. This album was released through Unique Leader Records in 2010. In 2015, Serial Butcher revealed the cover of their album Brute Force Lobotomy, and published the track "Sadistic Spare Parts Surgery" in August of that year.
