My name is Westye Hemsley, people call me Wes.
I am the 3rd child of a middle class family.
My dad was a furniture designer and my mom a sales assistant in a luxury shoes shop.
I grew up listening to Earth, Wind & Fire, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Quincy Jones & more with my Dad; Prince and Lenny Kravitz with my sister; and Hip Hop & Chicago House with my brother.
Started my music career as a DJ, playing giggs in Paris at the age of 15 and signed a deal with Virgin at 17.
I created my first business in Miami at 21. A publishing company.
I’ve Worked with local acts as a music producer in Miami, Atlanta, VA Beach, NYC. We had a producing duo called The Magnets with a highschool friend. That was LIT! ?
I released my debut album FANTASY in 2019. That was a big commercial fail since I had a deal with a label but they did nothing for my music. Right after this situation, my energy was down and it took me time to get back at work as a fully indie artist.
Through the summer 2021, I released 9 new songs & 2 concept beat tapes.
While I continue to produce & song write for artists, my 2nd album “WH” is about to release in late 2022.
