Biyografi

Michael Schenker is a German metal-rock guitarist who has worked with several groups, collaborated with other artists and released many solo albums in a career that began with his older brother Rudolf Schenker's group Scorpions in the early 1970s. Currently, he records and tours as Michael Schenker Fest with a line-up that includes singers Gary Barden, Robin McAuley and Doogie White with Ted McKenna on drums, Steve Mann on guitar and keyboards and Chris Glen on bass.

Born in what was then West Germany, he learned to play guitar as a child and after his stint with Scorpions he joined British psychedelic band UFO and then formed the Michael Schenker Group who performed and recorded with various singers over the years. The group's self-titled 1980 album, which reached number eight on the UK Official Albums Chart and number 100 on the Billboard 200, marked his entry as leader of his own group and he has been prolific in the industry ever since.

'Msg' (1981) went to number 14 in the UK and number 81 on the Billboard 200, 'One Night at Budokan' reached number five in the UK, 'Assault Attack' went to number 19 in the UK and peaked at 151 on the 200, 'Built to Destroy' reached number 23 in the UK and 'Rock Will Never Die' went to number 24. Singles 'Armed and Ready', 'Cry for the Nations' and 'Dancer' made the UK Official Singles Chart peaking in the low 50s in the early 1980s and the single 'Rock My Nights Away' reached number 51 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Chart in 1984. Schenker's most recent album, 'Resurrection', as Michael Schenker Fest, came out in March 2018. His supporting 2018 tour included appearances at venues in Stockholm, Malaga, Madrid, Milan, Karlsruhe, Amsterdam, Glasgow, Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester and London.
