Himra, whose real name is Bakayoko Abdul Rahim, is an Ivorian rapper born on May 28, 1998, in Abidjan. He was introduced to French rap through La Fouine, before immersing himself in American hip-hop culture, influenced in particular by Travis Scott, Young Thug, and A$AP Rocky. Starting at age 9, he began freestyling, then joined the group SBS before launching his solo career. He released his first project, Omega, in 2018—a 14-track album featuring local collaborators (Aura Corp, Sabe Joroko, Doliziana Debordo). In 2019, he released Brutal, a collaborative project with J-Haine, before marking a turning point with Ivoire Drill King in 2021, released on the Def Jam Recordings Africa label, featuring Gazo, Le Juiice, Tripa Gninnin, and YoungPro. His singles “Pti Déj” with Hache-P, followed by “Sans pression” and “Y’a pas drap” in 2022 and 2023, further cemented his reputation. In 2024, Himra released the album Jeune & Riche, reaffirming his commitment to representing the ambitious youth of Ivory Coast. He returned in 2025 with the EP BIG AKA 4 AKA KAI, a project with powerful sounds that continued his visual and musical exploration. That same year, he released the single “Number One” featuring Minz, which reached No. 153 on the SNEP chart, followed by the album Dachiba Koumgba Tchaiba, featuring guest appearances by Gazo, La Mano 1.9, Sheff G, Abra Cadabra, and Stonebwoy. In 2026, he returned with the album Sorry I’m Bad, which peaked at No. 14 on the SNEP chart, featuring collaborations with Gazo, Leto, M24, BobbyDaiz, and Zlatan, as well as Enfant Noir, Philipayne, ElGrandeToto, and La Fouine.
