Biyografi

The multi-platinum Italian rock band Måneskin formed in 2016 while bandmates Damiano David, Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi, and Ethan Torchio were all attending the same high school in Monteverde, Italy. One year later, the group auditioned for the eleventh season of X Factor Italia with an original song called "Chosen." Måneskin performed "Chosen" once again during the show's semi-finals round and ultimately finished the season in second place, which helped introduce the band's music to a national audience. Chosen, the group's debut EP, was released the same week as the X Factor's finale and debuted at Number 3 on the FIMI charts, quickly going platinum. Although it largely focused on cover songs performed during Måneskin's time on the television show, Chosen was followed by 2018's Il ballo della vita, a full-length album comprised of new material penned by the band. Il ballo della vita topped the Italian charts and produced four Top 10 singles, including the Number 2 hit "Morirò da re" and the Number 1 ballad "Torna a casa." Two years later, "Vent'anni" became Måneskin's fifth platinum-selling single in Italy and paved the way for an even bigger hit, "Zitti e buoni," which charted at Number 2 and won the Sanremo Music Festival 2021. Both songs were included on the band's second album, Teatro d'Ira: Vol. 1, which debuted at Number 1 in March 2021 and went gold during its first month of release. The band was chosen to represent Italy in the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with "Zitti e buoni,” which was awarded first place on May 22, 2021. "Zitti e buoni" cracked the UK top ten in 2021, making Måneskin the first Italian rock band to do so. They soared even higher with their duet cover of "I Wanna Be Your Slave" featuring Iggy Pop, making it into the UK top five, and kept up the momentum on dancey follow-up single "Mammamia" in October 2021; the first taste of their third studio album Rush! 2022 saw a duo of singles–"Supermodel" and Italian chart-topper "The Loneliest"—further whet the appetite for 2023 LP Rush!, which was recorded in part with Swedish production powerhouse Max Martin (Britney Spears, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift) and influenced by Radiohead. Måneskin received their first Grammy nomination in the Best New Artist category at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
