Malinda

Malinda Kathleen Reese, known professionally as Malinda, was born on June 27, 1994, in Washington D.C., and is an American singer-songwriter. She began her musical journey at the age of 13 when she learned to play the Irish flute. Her initial breakthrough came through an online video platform with her channel Twisted Translations, where she created humorous song translations using Google Translate. In 2018, Malinda launched her singing career with the EP Love Letter. She released several EPs including The Folks I Love and Sea to Sky, both in 2021, and embarked on the Folks I Love Tour in early 2022. Her debut album, It’s All True, was released on April 28, 2023, accompanied by a visual album. Malinda has also gained recognition for her acting roles, notably winning a Helen Hayes Award in 2020 for her performance in the musical Once.
