Urban Cookie Collective, a British techno and house band, was formed in 1993 by keyboardist/songwriter Rohan Heath. Born on July 19, 1964, Heath began playing classical piano as a child before transitioning to electric piano. He had previously worked with groups like Yargo and Manchester DJ A Guy Called Gerald before founding Urban Cookie Collective. The band gained significant attention with their debut single "The Key the Secret" in 1993. Heath wrote and produced all of the group's hits, including "Feels Like Heaven." Vocalist Diane Charlemagne contributed to many early tracks and later co-wrote some songs, becoming an integral part of the band. They released their debut album High on a Happy Vibe in 1993, which charted widely. In 1994, they released the singles: "So Beautiful" and "Rest Of My Love" followed by sophomore album Tales from the Magic Fountain the following year. The band encountered controversy in 1996 when they recorded a cover version of Oasis's "Champagne Supernova," leading to legal action that prevented its full release. Urban Cookie Collective continued to tour, with Lynsey Shaw as the front vocalist after Charlemagne was diagnosed with kidney cancer and died on October 28, 2015 at age 51.
