Madd, whose real name is Mehdi Ribati, is a Moroccan rapper born on September 1, 1995 in Safi and raised in Casablanca. He took his first steps in rap in 2009 at the age of 14, joining the Wa Drari Squad (WDS) collective before going solo with Xacto. However, he really came to prominence in 2017 with his hit "3310", which racked up over 3 million views on YouTube and became one of the summer's standout tracks. His career then took a turn, with notable collaborations, notably with artists such as Lacrim, 7liwa, West, and ElGrandeToto. He also took part in the Naar collective project, highlighting the emergence of Moroccan rap. In 2020, Madd unveiled his debut album Black Rose, a project that confirmed his rise in Moroccan rap. Inspired by legends such as Kendrick Lamar and Audio Push, he makes his mark with his authentic style and hard-hitting flow, blending conscious rap with American influences. Today, Madd is one of the most respected figures on the North African urban scene.
