Biyografi

With sales of over 15 million albums, Diana Krall – born November 16, 1964 in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada - is ranked as one of the most successful jazz singers in recent history, although her wide-ranging style also embraces various other musical genres. Growing up in British Columbia, she was strongly influenced by her father's piano playing and her mother's community choir. By the time she was 15, Krall was playing jazz in a local restaurant and won a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston. From there she moved to Los Angeles and further enhanced her reputation as a jazz singer and pianist. She recorded her first album Stepping Out in 1993 and her second Only Trust Your Heart in 1995, produced by Tommy LiPuma. It was her third album, All for You: A Dedication to The Nat King Cole Trio, in 1996 that really established her reputation, spending 70 weeks in the Billboard Jazz Charts and earning her a Grammy Award nomination. The following year Love Scenes produced Krall's first hit and her trio (with Russell Malone on guitar and Christian McBride on bass) increased their following on a major tour with Tony Bennett. Through the 2000s, she broadened her style beyond jazz, particularly following her marriage to Elvis Costello. She also collaborated with Ray Charles and produced Barbra Streisand's 2009 album Love Is the Answer. That same year, she released her Quiet Nights album which included her versions of standards like “The Boy from Ipanema”, “Every Time We Say Goodbye” and “Walk on By”. In 2012, Krall was asked to perform “Fly Me to the Moon” at astronaut Neil Armstrong's memorial service. Later that year, she released Glad Rag Doll, her eleventh studio album featuring jazz tunes from the 1920s and '30s followed by Wallflower in 2015 and Turn Up the Quiet in 2017. In 2018, she teamed up once more with Tony Bennett to record the collaborative album Love Is Here to Stay. In 2020, Diana Krall returned with This Dream of You, her 15th studio album.
