Kristoffer Jonas Klauß (June 29, 1988), who goes by the name Gzuz, is a German rapper who gained fame as a member of the hip-hop group 187 Strassenbande, which was formed in Hamburg in 2006. They have had several hits in Germany even as Gzuz spent three years in prison on a theft charge. Gzuz released his first solo album High & Hungrig with Bonez MC in 2014, followed by Ebbe & Flut (2015) and High & Hungrig 2 (2016) with Bonez MC, which topped the German charts. A provocative track called “Was Hast Du Gedacht” earned him international attention due to its graphic and violent content in 2018 when the video blog Worldstar Hip Hop posted it on the web. In the subsequent years, Gzuz stayed at the forefront of German hip-hop by landing two Number 1 records on the domestic charts—Wolke 7 (2018) and Gzuz (2020)—and scoring a Top 5 hit with the 2021 non-album single “Späti.”
