Carrapicho

The Carrapicho group was formed in 1980 by singer Zezinho Corrêa and a host of other musicians and dancers. They all hail from Amazonia, and are keen to use their music to defend their culture around the world. But it is above all regionally that the five musicians succeed in imposing their style. By the time Patrick Bruel came to Amazonia to shoot the film Le Jaguar with Jean Réno, the Carrapicho had already enjoyed a 16-year career. But the French singer and actor was charmed by the song "Tic, Tic, Tac", which he discovered there. He decided to convince his record company to launch the band's career in France, convinced that the song could become a hit there. And that's exactly what happened, as "Tic, Tic, Tac" went on to become a huge hit in many countries, not least France, where it stayed in the singles chart for almost six months, topping it for three weeks.
