Demir Demirkan, born on August 12, 1972, in Adana, is a Turkish musician and guitarist. He began his musical journey at age 13 and played guitar with various groups during college. In 1990, he joined the heavy/rock band Mezarkabul in Istanbul, contributing to their second album, Trail Blazer. Demir Demirkan moved to Los Angeles in 1992, where he studied at Musician's Institute under Scott Henderson, Frank Gambale, and Paul Hanson. Upon returning to Istanbul in 1996, he worked as a producer, guitarist, and composer for artists like Sebnem Ferah and Sertab Erener. His debut solo album Demir Demirkan was released in 2000 under Sony Music. He gained significant recognition with subsequent releases like Dunya Benim, released in 2002, and the song "Everyway That I Can", written for Sertab Erener, which won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003. In the following decade, Demir Demirkan continued expanding his discography through releases such as Biriz (2011), Tam Ölmek de Değil (2014), and Elysium on Ashes (2019).
