Larry June is the stage name of Bay Area rapper Larry Eugene Hendricks III (April 8, 1991) who jumped to fame in 2016 with the EPs Larry and Orange Season. Born in San Francisco, he spent most of his childhood in Atlanta, Georgia, but later returned to California after graduating from middle school. There, he began distributing his music independently and dropped out of high school after his music began gaining traction at a local level. After his 2014 mixtape Route 80 was picked up by Complex magazine, Larry June landed a record deal with Warner Records, which issued his critically acclaimed EPs Larry and Orange Season, both issued in 2016 and produced by Spanish DJ duo Cookin' Soul. Warner released Larry June from his contract shortly after the release of his third EP Larry Two (2017), citing a lack of interest in recording. During those years, he had toured the US as the opening act for mainstream rap acts such as Post Malone and Cousin Stizz, also featuring in their singles "Never Understand" and "Down Like That," respectively. In the following years, Larry June continued releasing music at a prolific rate, with the album Adjust to the Game and the collaborative LP Cruise USA with Cardo arriving in 2020. Released in 2021, the full-length Orange Print became his first charting effort by reaching Number 125 on the Billboard 200. A follow-up titled Spaceships on the Blade appeared in 2022 and peaked at Number 39 on the pop charts thanks to the single "Apreciate It All" which, in turn, hit Number 93 on the US Top 100.
