Schoolmates Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy were barely 14 when they formed a vocal group and seemingly a few minutes later they were roaring up the charts with their first single Overload. Co-writing with All Saints producer Cameron McVey, they followed it with a string of classy, dance-orientated hits. It wasn't all plain sailing, however. Siobhan was an early casualty, ducking out in 2001 to be replaced by Heidi Range, a former member of Atomic Kitten. It produced spectacular results when Freak Like Me, an inspired mash-up of Gary Numan's Are Friends Electric? and Adina Howard's Freak Like Me, became an international smash. Despite the success, stories of bust-ups pursued them and Mutya quit at the end of 2005 to be replaced by Amelle Berrabah. A major fall-out with Amelle in 2009 resulted in the departure of Keisha, the group's only original member, to be replaced by former UK Eurovision Song Contest representative Jade Ewen.
