Kateryna Yeremenko, better known by her stage name Dadooka (stylized DaKooka), is a Ukrainian musician born on November 29, 1993 in Chernivtsi. Trained as a pianist, she studied at a music school before joining a church choir, an experience that influences her use of vocal harmonies in her compositions. Her pseudonym comes from a childhood nickname, "Kooka", to which she adds the prefix "da" to create a more personal identity. She began writing songs at the age of 18, performing in pubs in her hometown. In 2015, she released her first album in English, Radha, recorded with her band and inspired by the Indian mythological figure of love. In 2016, she released a mini-album in Russian, followed in 2017 by an EP entitled Гордо, after a high-profile appearance on The Voice Ukraine. In 2018, Герой is released, hailed for its depth and richness of sound, as well as the Форма EP. In 2019, several of her tracks are used as soundtracks in the Ukrainian TV series Early Swallows, boosting her profile. In 2021, she offers the EP KTSH 3.10.06, part 1, a suite of electro-acoustic ballads followed by the album 31006, the fruit of two years' work, where she incorporates more rock elements. After leaving Ukraine following the Russian invasion in 2022, she continues her artistic creation in exile. She released Up & Down, an ambitious 19-track English-language double album, followed by Біженка in 2023, her first album entirely in Ukrainian, where she revisits her old songs with fresh eyes. The same year, she explores electronic music further with the Schizophrenie project, released under the pseudonym ktsh. In 2024, the album Ты was released. Its biggest hit, "Умри, если меня не любишь" ("Meurs si tu ne m'aimes pas"), is present in the listening charts of several platforms around the world.
