Biyografi

The son of Growing Pains actor Alan Thicke and Days of Our Lives actress Gloria Loring, R&B singer Robin Thicke was born in Los Angeles, California on March 10, 1977. After signing a contract with Interscope Records he worked with artists such as Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony, Jordan Knight and Usher, before embarking on a solo singing career. He released a debut album, Cherry Blue Skies, in 2002, that was re-released as A Beautiful World in 2003, but made little impact in the US. He signed to Pharrell William's Star Trak label and began work on 2006’s The Evolution of Robin Thicke, which went platinum and hit the top 5 on the Billboard 200. The second single from the album, “Lost Without U”, gave him his first U.S. chart hit, making it to Number 14. 2008’s Something Else, featured the singles “Magic” and “The Sweetest Love”, which both hit number 2 on the Adult R&B chart. His fourth album, Sex Therapy, was released at the end of 2009 and featured the Polow da Don-produced single of the same name. He had an Adult R&B Number 1 with the title track to 201’s Love After War, but it would be the title track of 2013’s Blurred Lines that would forever alter Robin Thicke’s career. The song was a was a worldwide smash, topping the pop charts in dozens of countries, but he and the song’s co-writers and producers were sued by the estate of Marvin Gaye for plagiarizing that Motown legend’s 1977 song “Got to Give It Up”.  The case was eventually settled out of court.
After 2014’s Paula, he stayed quiet for a few years, occasionally releasing a single. It would be 2021 before he released his next LP, On Earth, and in Heaven, which featured his fifth Number 1 Adult R&B hit, “That’s What Love Can Do”.
