Jenjoon

JenJoon, real name Omar Twihri, is a Tunisian rapper and singer born in 1992 in Jendouba. A rising star on the Maghreb hip-hop scene, his style is introspective, dark and authentic, blending rap, haunting melodies and Tunisian sounds. He began writing at an early age, marked by life's difficulties and a deep sensitivity: "It's pain that drives me to write", he confides. After leaving school early, he moved to Tunis in 2018, taking on a series of odd jobs and recording his first tracks in precarious conditions. His career took off on YouTube, with tracks like"Hayala","Parasite" and"El Foundou" racking up millions of views. In 2020, he released Ellil, his first album, followed in 2023 by Mdayda, an ambitious 15-track project. It explores the melancholy, intimate wounds and contradictions of Tunisian youth torn between tradition and modernity. His highly coherent visual and musical universe, as well as his collaborations with artists such as Redstar Radi and Kami Muzic, have won him a loyal fanbase in Tunisia and beyond.
