Escute meu novo single: Pra Que Mentir do projeto "Salve, Noel"
Denise Studart, singer born in Rio de Janeiro, interprets samba, bossa, choro, among other MPB genres. At 21, she began her fruitful career in Italy in the mid-1980s, providing a long musical trajectory, for five years in Europe, where she lived and acquired vast international experience. Denise also interprets composers from other countries in South America, such as the Uruguayan Jorge Drexler, of which she wrote Portuguese versions. In 2016, she released the cd “Joia Rara”, praised by Brazilian and American critics. The album was among the “Top 20” of Tratore at the time of its release and had repercussions in Brazil, Spain, Portugal, USA and Japan. The album features renowned musicians from the Rio de Janeiro scene, such as singer Marcos Sacramento and instrumentalists Luiz Flavio Alcofra, Kiko Horta and Jayme Vignoli, among others. In addition, she is part of the “Duo Artevozes”, dedicated to MPB, together with French-Brazilian composer and guitarist Alain Pierre; they recorded together the song "A Lenda de Mariá", by the composer Sergio Ricardo. With a melodious voice, Denise is inspired by Brazilian singers such as Roberta Sá, Marisa Monte, Maryana Aidar and Nara Leão.
Her new work - “Salve, Noel” - encompasses interpretations of classics by the Rio samba composer Noel Rosa, with piano arrangements by Paulo Malaguti Pauleira, and guest appearances by musicians Marcelo Caldi, Joana Queiroz, Felipe Tauil, Aquiles Moraes, Everson Moraes, Sica Malaguti and Felipe Tauil. The five songs on the EP were chosen in a meticulous curation, made by Denise in partnership with the musician and art director Maria Clara Barbosa, who proposes not only a new interpretation of Noel's sambas, but a musical challenge to portray the entire narrative dimension and dramatic, inherent to the Brazilian artist. The arrangements mix vitality and delicacy, creating a refined and modern swing, a mix between samba and bossa, major influences on Denise's career.
