Abigail Mensah, stage name NaaNa Blu is a Ghanaian musician who hails from Shama in the western region of Ghana. She completed her Senior High School education at Shama High School also in the western region and is a recent graduate Teacher of French from the prestigious University of Education, Winneba. She is multilingual and is fluent in Fante, Twi, English, and French.
NaaNa Blu, signed to Quophimens Musiq, a Record Label and Talent Management Company performed at the Vodafone Ghana Music 2021 and Western Music Awards 2021. She also performed with the Chickens band at Smokes and Barrel in Osu. She also performed at Kwahu Rock City Hotel along with Stonebwoy, Kofi Kinaata and Kwabena Kwabena; Potomanto Festival, and host of other performances across Ghana.
NaaNa Blu won the 2021 New Artiste of the Year for Western Music Awards and got nominated for 3 Music Awards 2021, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2021, Ghana Music Awards 2021, and many other reputable music awards schemes.
NaaNa Blu has released a five-track EP called ‘This Is Highlife’ which is heating the digital platforms especially Apple Music and Boomplay. The songs on the EP include Ohia, You dey do yourself, Odo Asem, Highlife Dance and This Is Highlife.
NaaNa Blu describes her music as a fusion of Highlife and Afro Beats. She writes and performs predominantly in Fante which is her mother tongue infused with French and English. She is inspired by Asa, Bob Marley, Akosua Agyapong, Ewurama Bedu, Fella Kuti, CK Mann, Whitney Houston, Rihanna and Sarkodie.
