With a blend of reflexive lyrics, thick alt-rock riffs and pop-punk sensibilities, Backdrop Falls was formed in 2016 in the beach city of Fortaleza, Brazil, after being idealized and created by vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Matheus Collyer. Starting out as a studio project, they became a full band shortly after the release of their first EP, when they started touring around their hometown, taking their first steps and opening for bigger bands of the national scene. Consisting of Collyer (guitar/vocals), Rafael Neutral (guitar) and Breno de Souza (drfums), the band released their first full length in May of 2019, entitled “There’s no such place as home”, which has been distributed worldwide through 10 different record labels. Throughout their career, the band have toured around Latin America and played alongside bands such as Sum 41, Against Me, Face to Face and Hellacopters and have just released "Closer to the edge", the first single off what they call chapter one out of three of their brand new album “Fairytales and Fireworks”, to be fully released between 2022 and 2023.
