The band’s music is primarily influenced by the NU-METAL, post hardcore and METALCORE styles. In general, the music of Down for Whatever has massive BREAKDOWNS, singalongs and catchy riffs. The lyrics have dark, PERSONAL THEMES as well as SOCIAL CRITICISM. To empower all this the band occasionally uses female vocals and screams.
In 2017, after producing several EPs and videos the band released their first album WHITE LIGHT, in Dürer Kert 041, on a SOLD OUT concert. Within the same year they won the „The Young Titans of the Year” category of the GUMIZSIRÁF PRIZE, a highly acclaimed title within the underground rock / metal scene of Hungary.
By this time DFW was playing along bands like IGNITE, WE CAME AS ROMANS, HELIA or ESKIMO CALLBOY. They also performed with Hungarian groups such as USEME, SUBSCRIBE and even AWS, the winner of “A Dal” the Hungarian EUROVISION Selection Competition. As a display of the close connection between the two bands Kiki Diószegi, the vocalist of DFW, helped out the other band and took on the role of vocalist for the duration of the Selection Competition, ensuring that AWS could take first place.
