Une vision allégorique du monde, un univers fort et intemporel
Founded in Paris 2019, Les Barbiers dans la Ville Mauve began as a collaboration between Quebec keyboardist Michaël Proulx and French guitarist Hadrien de Blignières’s composing and splicing of progressive and independent influences. They were soon joined by Canadian percussionist/drummer Daniel Lunn and the trio began arranging compositions gradually building a new and thoughtful alternative sound.
The music of the Barbiers exists in a world that reflects the imbalances of our time and adresses our ambivalent feelings of our wavering civilization. With the evolving universe and the uncertainty of the modern world, their sound continually evolves through their reflection and collaboration with poets, writers and others who resonate with their sound. Les Barbiers music reveals a rock universe, sung or slammed, with perceptible influences of progressive alternative rock (Radiohead, Archive, The Doors, ...) and French songs (Mathieu Chedid, Jacques Dutronc, Feu Chatterton, ...).
