Meritas is a Croatian pop band formed in Zagreb in 1996, whose members, Anita Valo and Meri Jaman, grew up in Munich, Germany. By now, the band has recorded five albums, earned and won nominations for various music awards - the most notably the National music award Porin, and become one of the most-played performers on Croatian radio stations.
Recognized as composers, they create music for other artists as well as a theatre music and film scores. In the recent past, they went to visit America and Australia and gave several performances there. Currently, they are promoting their latest album Gle! (Look!) performing live all over Croatia with their musicians.

Anita Valo was born in Munich. She has been on stage since she was five years old. Coming from a musical family she began playing various instruments as a child. The first instrument she played was the melodica and soon after that she began playing the block flute. Today she has added piano, guitar and bass guitar to her wide-ranging repertoire. Anita completed a music school. Also, she went to a private school in Munich to master the mixing board. She is the composer, the interpreter and the producer of their music.
Meri Jaman was born in Split. She danced ballet since the age of three. She sang publicly for the first time in church, at age 12. She went to music and arts school, as well as a private school for musicals in Munich. Meri is the composer and interpreter of their music.
Meritas songs have distinguished themselves by being able to capture the nuances and feelings of snapshot moments in time, the universal truths that all people can relate to and which are born from their own life experiences.
