The Tribo de Gonzaga is a Brazilian Forró Sextet. Formed in 2006 in Petrópolis, RJ, the group's performances are always true celebrations of the style created by Luiz Gonzaga. Their shows are characterized by audience interaction, rich poetry, and captivating melodies, adorned with meticulous vocal arrangements and vigorous instrumentation. Xotes, baiões, xaxados, maracatus, galopes, and frevos make up the sound of the Tribo. Their music is danceable while retaining the poetic depth characteristic of our language, our land, and our popular music. With over 1,000 shows under their belt, most of which have had a large audience, the band has become one of the most sought-after in the regions where they perform. In addition to their original songs, the group also interprets classics by great names in Brazilian music, always with their own creative arrangements. The lineup, in addition to traditional instruments such as the zabumba (Fernando Madá), triangle (Toni Magdalena), and accordion (Ivan Viana), includes bass (Gabriel Tauk), guitar (Caíque Antunes), and sax/flute (Dominique Rabello). Everyone sings. The result is an engaging and emotional sound, marked by the mission to preserve, promote, and develop the rich culture created in northeastern Brazil, which is now spreading to more and more places around the world.
