Wonga Philip Harris, also known as Phil Harris, born on June 24, 1904, in Linton, Indiana, was an American singer-songwriter, jazz musician, actor, and comedian. He started his career as a drummer in San Francisco during the late 1920s, forming an orchestra with Carol Lofner at the Hotel St. Francis. In 1936, Harris became the musical director for The Jell-O Show Starring Jack Benny, where he also performed as a vocalist and actor. His notable singles include "Chattanoogie Shoe-Shine Boy / That's A Plenty" (1949). Harris also ventured into acting, appearing in films like The High and the Mighty (1954) and providing voice work for Disney animated features such as The Jungle Book (1967), where he voiced Baloo. He passed away on August 11, 1995.
