Founded in Mexico in 1995, Diablos Locos is a tropical music group created by José Luis Moctezuma with a distinctive accordion-based sound. Their first studio effort, the 1994 album Canto Negro, introduced singles such as "Canto Negro" and "Cumbia Sobre El Mar", which were popular among dancers. In 1996, the release of Te Soy Ajeno and the hit "Lamento de Amor" propelled the band onto U.S. charts. The 1999 album Con Calor Y Sentimiento featured "Si No La Tengo", which remained in top positions for a full year and earned the song of the year award from the Society of Authors and Composers. The 2004 compilation Disco Fiesta 2004 added new tracks and broadened the group’s appeal across Latin America. In 2010, under the Multimusic label, the album Una Locura Más produced singles like "Se Parece Más a Ti" and "Una Calle Nos Separá".
